Our Story · Since 2001

Independent specialists, built on experience

BIKE-SMART was founded by Paul Clark in 2001, having served 14 years as a Senior Technician in a local Ducati and Triumph franchise motorcycle service dealership. That grounding shaped the workshop's approach: methodical, honest and thoroughly hands-on.

Today BIKE-SMART tailors every service to fit your needs — whether that's a full service, an MOT, an engine rebuild or a new tyre. We use only genuine parts and spares unless otherwise requested.

The result is the same standard of work you'd expect from a main dealer, delivered with a personal touch and often at a more competitive price.

Maintaining your passion

Paul has attended numerous factory training courses — Ducati in Bologna, Triumph in Hinckley and Yamaha — keeping his knowledge current across the marques BIKE-SMART specialises in.

That factory-level training, combined with more than two decades running the workshop, means your bike is diagnosed accurately and worked on correctly the first time.

Set up for every job, big or small

Our workshop runs four hydraulic ramps operated by skilled technicians, backed by comprehensive tooling for servicing Ducati, BMW and Triumph motorcycles.

We have state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment for all makes and models, including systems specifically for Ducati, so we can assess your bike quickly and efficiently.

Moto-R is also equipped with an MOT testing bay, tyre fitting and balancing apparatus, and offers bespoke machining and specialist welding services.

A Passion for Classics

Where craft meets character

Alongside modern European machines, Richard has a personal passion for classic motorcycles and will happily work on Norton, BSA, Triumph and most other European marques.

It's this genuine enthusiasm for the machines — old and new — that customers notice most. Your bike is treated with the same care Richard gives his own.
